The Library Of Your Heart

The Library Of Your Heart is a game about gaining knowledge about Yourself by (re)discovering things about You.   You start with only one suit of cards available: the diamond suit, which represents things You & others know about You.  Your ultimate goal is to learn things are currently unknown to Yourself & others—in other words, you want to obtain the Spades suit and draw at least 1 card from it.

 This can be played solo, or with another person (and, hypothetically, with multiple people).  Travel a hex board while strategically planning your movements, earn Pulse Points to buy more suits to your deck (along with other useful purchases), and draw levelable Heart Guides to get you benefits on your journey!  Just hope you don't draw an Ace or Joker, because if you do, the game's over!

The Library Of Your Heart is designed to be a personal exercise, a character study, or whatever else you can mold it into.  I hope it gives you a memorable experience.

This game was made for quite a handful of game jams, but the main ones are July's Eternal TTRPG Jam, Gacha TTRPG Jam 2025, and Wayfarers Game Jam.  It was also for the TTRPG Fun Jam #1 - Hex Crawl Horizons, but I missed the deadline without realizing.  Well, it happens.

The game was also inspired by The Spirit Library, which is a work that helped me greatly during a crucial point in my life.

Working on this game gave me a lot of hope in this currently dark & uncertain period.  itch.io is banning and censoring games, including my game Bi Lines, a un-erotic project about the trauma of SA.  More companies are going on the censorship bandwagon, and the future looks scary.  But working on this has helped give me a spark of light in the darkness.
