They are exploring their new home, and have been trapped in a room. The goal is to escape the room, which has this wall with a pattern:
On the opposite wall are five doors, each with the shape of a four-sided quadrilaterals on them, but no knobs or keyholes. In order, they have:
- Four long sides that are equal in length (looks like two isosceles triangles stuck together)
- Four short sides that are equal in length (looks like two equilateral triangles stuck together)
- Four sides that are slanted, with each opposite side parallel to each other
- Two parallel sides and two diagonal sides
- Two sides of equal length (diagonal) that join together (looks like an equilateral triangle and isosceles triangle stuck together)
Players must answer: with all the shapes present, how many squares can be seen or created on this wall?
Answering this question correctly open one square in each player’s color(s). Inside is a key shaped like a:
- Orange: rhombus
- Yellow: parallelogram
- Blue: trapezoid
- Green: kite
- Red: diamond
They must then match each key to the correct door, and then escape.

Solution:
For the answer to the wall puzzle, see the puzzle solution zine or powerpoint (but to be brief, the number is 35). Here is the answer to the key puzzle:
Rhombus (Orange): Four long sides that are equal in length (looks like two isosceles triangles stuck together)
Parallelogram (Yellow): Four sides that are slanted, with each opposite side parallel to each other
Trapezoid (Blue): Two parallel sides and two diagonal sides
Kite (Green): Two sides of equal length (diagonal) that join together (looks like an equilateral triangle and isosceles triangle stuck together)
Diamond (Red): Four short sides that are equal in length (looks like two equilateral triangles stuck together)

A geometry puzzle that can be played solo or with a group. Made for the following game jams:
- ABC Jam (main jam for this. According to the website, this should be a sufficient puzzle for students Year 4 and higher)
- Puzzle Dungeon Jam (I wanted to make a more complex puzzle, but I don't have the bandwidth for it; I hope this will suffice)
- Tumblr 200 Word RPGs 2025 (helped me keep this short, sweet, and manageable)
- POWERPOINT- It is secretly a powerful game engine... (LOVED working with powerpoint again, it was really cool!)
- Sunday Zine Club #17 (inspired the "new home" idea)
- First Step: A TTRPG Game Jam (same as previous)
